Text Banking via mobile

Save your data minutes and put our handy text banking alerts to work for you. To sign up, log into Online Banking, go to the Options tab at the top, select Mobile Banking Profile and then Manage Devices. Select the accounts for which you’d like to receive alerts, and give them nicknames. Access your account information by sending a text to 99588.

  • Text BAL + Account Nickname to view account balances
  • Text HIST + Account Nickname to view transaction history
  • Text ATM + Street or Zip to find an ATM near you
  • Text BRANCH + Street or Zip to find a branch near you

Helpful tip: In your mobile device contacts, save 99588, with a name like “MacBank Text Alerts”, then you don’t have to remember the number when you want to do text banking.

Mobile Deposit*

Free.  Secure. Convenient.  Deposit checks from anywhere with your mobile device. Mobile Deposit is available to anyone with Online Banking and the Macatawa Personal Mobile Banking app. 

Launch the Mobile Banking app on your mobile device and select Deposit.  Snap a photo of the front and back of the check.  Enter the amount of the check, select which account gets the deposit, and hit submit.   For security reasons, our daily limit on Mobile Deposit is $2,000.

Is Macatawa Bank Mobile Banking secure?

Macatawa Bank Mobile Banking employs industry best practices with regards to security. It has been assessed against industry security criteria by a number of independent system security experts.

At a high level, Macatawa Bank Mobile Banking offers the following security safeguards:

  • Authentication - Mobile browser and application solution customers are authenticated for every interaction with any Macatawa Bank Mobile Banking component. Customers are authenticated by username and password or by utilizing existing login credentials for single sign-on.

  • Encryption - 128-bit encryption is used for all transactions within Macatawa Bank Mobile Banking and between Macatawa Bank Mobile Banking and other Fiserv solutions (e.g., core banking and payment systems).

  • Fraud - Macatawa Bank Mobile Banking incorporates mechanisms such as transaction validation and transaction reconciliation processes to detect fraud.

  • Availability/Resilience - Macatawa Bank Mobile Banking is protected against malicious attacks through software and server hardening measures.

  • Audit Ability - Macatawa Bank Mobile Banking provides full audit capabilities through event logs and event-based reporting.

Is my personal or financial information stored on my phone?

No. Macatawa Bank Mobile Banking does not save any files with personal or financial information on your mobile device. That information stays strictly within online banking. Some phones (have logo and branding files that are copied to the mobile device. Those files do not contain any personally identifiable information.

Can I deposit checks with my Mobile phone?

Yes.  If you log into your Personal Online Banking account, accept the Mobile Deposit User Agreement, the next day a new "Deposit" tab will appear in your Mobile Banking app. To make a deposit, tap the deposit tab, then new deposit, select the account to receive the deposit, enter the amount of the check, tap continue, then take a photo of the front and the back of the the check.  If you can clearly see each image when prompted "Do you wish to deposit this check?", tap Yes.

Which accounts can I access using Macatawa Bank Mobile Banking?

You can access any account you have set up in online banking. You select which accounts you want to access using MacBank Mobile Banking during the enrollment process.

How current is the account and transaction information?

When you view your account balance, you see the current available balance. When you view transaction history, you see the most recently posted transactions. Pending transactions do not display.

Is there a limit to how much I can deposit via Mobile Deposit?

Yes.  There is a $2,000 per check limit and a $2,000 per day limit.

Can I add more than one mobile phone?

Yes. You can enroll several mobile devices for Macatawa Bank Mobile Banking. To add a new phone, complete the Macatawa Bank Mobile Banking Enrollment section.

What if my phone is lost or stolen?

If your mobile device is lost or stolen, no one can access your account without knowing your password and, in some cases, your unique user name. To prevent unauthorized access to your account, you can deactivate your phone in MacBank Mobile Banking. To deactivate your mobile device, complete the How To Deactivate or Stop Using a Mobile Device section.

Which phones can I use for Macatawa Bank Mobile Banking?

Hundreds of models are supported including these major brands: iPhone, HTC, LG, Motorola, Pantech, Samsung, Sanyo, and Sony Ericsson. Phones on a number of different operating systems are supported including, but not limited, to Android, iOS, Symbian, Windows Mobile, Linux, Palm webOS, and Maemo.

Which mobile service carriers support Macatawa Bank Mobile Banking?

Macatawa Bank Mobile Banking works on all major mobile service carriers in the U.S.: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile®, U.S. Cellular®, and Verizon Wireless. MacBank Mobile Banking also works on a number of the smaller service carriers, including, but not limited to, Boost Mobile, Cricket Wireless, Metro PCS, Pioneer Cellular, Union Wireless, and Virgin Mobile USA.

I have a prepaid plan, can I use Macatawa Bank Mobile Banking?

Macatawa Bank Mobile Banking works with most prepaid plans, but we cannot guarantee that your carrier supports standard U.S. short codes. T-Mobile prepaid does not support short codes.

Can I use a tablet device such as an iPad, iPad Mini or Android Tablet with the Mobile Banking application?

Yes.  There is an iPad app available to download, simply search Macatawa Bank Personal Online Banking for iPad in the app store.  You are able to access Online Banking through the Android app or a web browser.

My phone is not receiving Mobile Banking Enrollment or Activation text messages.

The default behavior of some supported carriers is to turn off enhanced text messaging (or SMS) enabled for their customers. If your carrier is supported but you are not receiving activation or enrollment text messages we recommend you call your service carrier’s customer support and ask that enhanced text messaging be enabled on your plan or device. Sprint customers will typically need to call and have this feature enabled
