Macatawa Bank Launches Mobile Payment Solution SpotPay

HOLLAND, Mich. (Nov. 4, 2013) – Macatawa Bank announced today they would begin offering SpotPay™, a mobile payments solution for their customers which enables merchants to accept card payments anywhere, anytime.  Using SpotPay, merchants are able to swipe credit and debit cards with their Apple® iOS or Android™ mobile device to accept payments. With SpotPay, Macatawa Bank’s customers will have a secure, convenient and low-cost solution to collect card payments, which will deposit directly into their Macatawa Bank account.

“The ability to pay anyone, anytime, anywhere is changing commerce as we know it,” said Mike Shollack, Information Technology & eCommerce Director of Macatawa Bank.  “SpotPay is an innovative tool that helps deliver anytime, anywhere commerce while deepening our relationships with our business customers.  Macatawa Bank is excited to provide this sort of technology to our customers, helping them run their businesses more quickly and efficiently. ”

The SpotPay solution helps small business and merchant customers do more with its comprehensive set of features and functionality.  The SpotPay card reader has a rugged design and a long swipe path to reliably, accurately and securely read card data.  The solution has incorporated strong fraud prevention tools and makes card transactions easy to accept with security designed to decline counterfeit cards.  SpotPay users also get multi-layered security protecting sensitive card data from the point of swipe.  The SpotPay solution surpasses the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) by leveraging a secure, cloud-based gateway and card authentication process.  The SpotPay secure card readers work with Apple iOS and Android mobile devices.
