What is a Health Savings Account (HSA) Investment Program?

The HSA Investment Program is designed to offer more options for pre-tax contributions made to your HSA. It allows you the opportunity to invest a portion of your contribution in mutual funds.

How do I get Started?

• Select ONE of three convenient ways to receive program details:
  • Click here to view Demo Site (User ID: hsatest, Password: test456 and click Participant). To view prospectuses, click on the investment tab. To enroll, complete both the ‘Enrollment Form’ and the ‘Supplement to IRS Form 5305-C’ provided in the demo and return them to any Macatawa Bank branch.

What should I know before enrolling?

• Investment of your contributions is self-directed from a pre-selected menu of mutual funds.
• Your contributions will continue to be deposited to your HSA Checking Account.
• When the balance of your HSA Checking Account exceeds $3,000, funds will be transferred daily in $100 increments to your HSA Investment Account and invested in the Fund(s) you have selected.
• If the balance of your HSA Checking Account goes below $2,000, funds will be transferred from your HSA Investment Account.
• You will receive TWO Account statements. A monthly Checking Account statement and a quarterly Investment Account statement.
• Your HSA Investment Account can be viewed on-line and you have ready access to the following information:
  • Account Balances
  • Investment Profiles
  • Investment Returns
  • Rate of Return
  • Investment Elections
  • Transfer Funds
  • Rebalance of Portfolio
  • Conform to Target
  • Transaction History
  • Web Requests
